Right after you've entered into the room and have selected a character, then press the "B" to access the menu to purchase. From this menu you can see a variety of types and selection of weapons, the number of In-Game Money ($) owned and also limit the time left to make a purchase. If you feel you want to use the shortcut, then you can enter your favorite weapon set.
